About Us
Meadowcroft School is situated in a quiet residential area of Chertsey and is a Surrey County Council Community Infant School, taking children from the age of four to seven. The school is single form entry (one reception class).
Our school opened in 1972 and the single storey building is typical of that period. There are three classrooms, a library, a hall serving as a canteen at lunchtime and an outside area, which is used for playtimes and other outside activities.
The atmosphere around the school is calm and cheerful. Meadowcroft has, over the years, gained a reputation for good academic standards.
The classes are named after animals found in and around our locality. Hedgehogs for Reception Class, Foxes for Year 1 and Badgers for Year 2.
Each class has a teacher and qualified teaching assistant. Our teaching assistants also work as midday supervisors which provides continuity for children and staff. The school is aware of, and welcomes, the valuable contributions the support staff, parents and voluntary helpers make to the education of young children.
